Sunday 3rd May 2009 marks the first National Alpaca Day in New Zealand. To celebrate this day Styx River Farm will be open to the public.

We are located at 560 Marshland Road,Ouruhia, Christchurch. This is the second driveway on the right hand side after you go over the Styx River Bridge as you travel north towards Kaiapoi. You are welcome to drive down the drive and into the paddock marked rather than park on the roadside.

Any member of the public is invited to come along and experience the charm of the wonderful alpaca. But please be warned that they will steal your heart!! 

Styx River Sage

There will be opportunities to talk to farmers/breeders about alpacas both as pets and breeding livestock.

There will be a sales table with beautiful handmade baby wear which has been made in New Zealand from New Zealand alpaca fibre. Also for sale there will be snuggly alpaca beannies for adults and children. Just in time for the ski season! Come and feel softness and warmth of alpaca clothing.

Look out for the sign on the footpath.
